Snakes n' shakes!

Some bands stories are tedious in the extreme -guitarist meets bassist, puts ad in the local rag and voila, the next big thing is born. The ‘official’ story of Cobra Starship’s inception is far better. They claim that Gabe Saporta (THERE’S a rock star name) was bitten by a cobra sent from the future to teach him how to groove. Rather than be disturbed by this event, Gabe learnt to dance and put together Cobra Starship in honour of the spaceship that his slithery friend travelled in.

Of course, if there is one man that knows about the groove, it is Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy (a band lest we forget that had Jay-Z open its latest album) and soon Cobra Starship found themselves signed to Decaydance and part of the ever growing Fueled By Ramen family.

Next, the boys (and girl) found themselves on the soundtrack of internet sensation Snakes On A Plane, with a little help from Gym Class Heroes and The Academy Is… and the rest as they say is history. Trust us, you’ll be hearing a lot more about Cobra Starship as the year progresses, so we suggest climbing aboard now…
