Welcome to the world of the ‘Other Globe Straddling Emo Giants’, Fall Out Boy. They may lack the darkness of My Chem, but Pete Wentz and company still pack a hefty punch when it comes to emotion, thoughtfulness and good old fashioned rocking.

The stage show looks like somewhere Robbie Williams would be comfortable, with red neon throughout and the logo and pictures of the band flying across a tickertape screen, causing the crowd to scream each time they catch a peek of Wentz. The set is a mix of songs from all periods of their career, starting with the mass singalong of ‘Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn’t Get Sued’ and the jumping, singing and mania doesn’t end until ‘Dance Dance’ brings things to a thunderous climax. In between there is a storming version of ‘Sugar We’re Going Down’, the double single goodness of ‘This Aint A Scene’ and ‘Thnks Fr Th Memrs’ – it’s not all guitar thrashing though, one of the highlights is Patrick Stump’s solo run through the beautiful ‘Golden’, after which we forgive him for saying nothing all night – no, the motormouth is definitely Wentz, whether he is urging everyone to jump or starting a mass Panic At The Disco singalong, he’s the main star – but not at the expense of the others, you really get the feeling that Fall Out Boy are a total rock gang offstage and on this evidence, we want to be part of it.
